Bedrock
SGU's bedrock data provides both an overview of Sweden's bedrock and two-dimensional models of the bedrock surface, which describe important characteristics of identified geological units, their geometry, the material that makes up the units and geological events that they have undergone.
Bedrock 1:50 000–1:250 000

Bedrock 1:50,000–1:250,000 is a two-dimensional model of the top surface of the bedrock, which describes important features of identified geological units, their geometry, the material that makes up the units and geological events they have undergone. The information can be used as a basis for analyzes in connection with prospecting, general planning of buildings and facilities, geothermal energy extraction, work with various issues in the environmental area, research and education. The map is based on geological field observations in combination with interpretation of analysis results and geophysical data. There is also information about bedrock structures and properties.

Bedrock 1:1 million

Bedrock 1:1 million provides a general picture of Sweden's bedrock. The information can be used as a basis for very general planning, analysis, research and education. The map image is adapted for presentation on a 1:1 million scale, which means that the information is generalized and not intended for more detailed use.
The map image shows the distribution of different rock units and large deformation zones (fracture zones, faults and plastic shear zones). The rock units can consist of one or more rock types and the former are generally the most common. The age of each rock unit is reported, as well as which larger tectonic unit (for example, an older mountain range) it belongs to.
