License terms for SGU's geological data

SGU's geological data is available as open data. Open data is the term for information that is freely available and free to use.

SGU believes that the use of the authority's data promotes both its own work and society at large. We have long worked to provide our data products in simple and free services, such as our map viewers. Many of our data products have also previously been available for download as open data. From 9 June 2024 , all geological data provided by SGU will now be open and accessible to everyone.

Open data is provided in open formats without restrictive conditions. Perhaps you want to build an application, or use the information as a basis for decision-making in a process. SGU's products are under constant development, and we will also improve the information on how to use our data.
